Laura Morris Designs, Inc. provides creative services specializing in design and production of traditional print publications, ebooks and marketing & advertising.


Laura has an interesting life story. Initially getting her career off the ground working in magazine publishing, she played a major role in the design of many tech publications. This brought her to San Francisco where she witnessed the ever-expanding tech bubble of the early 2000’s. She came back to North Carolina and became creative director and a part of the founding staff for Edutopia magazine, published by the George Lucas Educational Foundation and later Art Director at TED Books. She has won numerous awards and accolades for her work because she knows how to create eye-catching content, think of creative ideas & concepts, has up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines.

Hired to work directly with company's largest client, ThoughtWorks. Creating sales presentations for internal teams presenting to international clients that include: Neiman Marcus, Adidas, John Varvatos, Carrefour, Aldo, Fidelity, Tractor Supply Co., Tesco, HILT, Subzero, 7-11, and Credit Suisse. Designed a number of marketing projects, infographics, ebooks, and event materials.

Created design for Berkshire Living, the award-winning arts and lifestyle magazine serving
the border region of MA, CT, VT, and NY. Published nine times a year, with the spinoff publication,
Berkshire Living Home+Garden, publishing annually and BBQ: Berkshire Business Quarterly.
Worked as an independent contractor from office in NC.

1997 – 2001

Launched successful and profitable magazine focused on the many ways the Internet impacts business,
from the process by which companies are conceived and created to how they develop markets, retain
customers and acquire competitors. Hired and supervised design staff. Also designed advertising, marketing,
and circulation materials. Magazine grew to an all-paid circulation of 350,000, with an annual revenue of
more than $70 million and profit of $20 million. Launched six international editions.
